At StarVale, we have undertaken many successful migrations for our clients, moving their lottery from their current lottery provider to our own platforms.

Every single migration we have undertaken has been completed seamlessly with no drop off in service. Payments have been processed and draws have been completed on time and in full, 100% of the time.

We work collaboratively with clients to set project milestones, with realistic timescales agreed ahead of time. Each client has a dedicated Relationship Manager who leads the project, working closely with the client throughout the migration, through the early stages of relaunch, and on ongoing basis following our “always on” support approach.

We adopt a best-practice, compliant approach to ensure your migration is risk-free. As per GDPR requirements, StarVale is the data processor and the client remains the data controller, while also being fully Gambling Commission compliant.

How it works in summary:

  • At the beginning of the project, the client provides StarVale with a copy of their
    lottery data file, including supporter details, number of prizes, payment type and
    transaction history.
  • StarVale then reviews the data and discusses anything that needs clarifying with the client.
  • Players with standing orders are not affected by the change.
  • Players using direct debit are informed that their direct debit service provider is changing where applicable, typically via direct mail or email.
  • We would take this opportunity to promote the new lottery to players, which will aid retention and minimise cancellations.
  • The last draw with the client’s current lottery system is run, typically on a Friday.
  • After the last draw, the client supplies StarVale with the final data file.
  • StarVale prepares the data files in line with client requirements, either replicating the existing structure or rebuilding from scratch to meet the client’s exact requirements.
  • The new lottery website goes live and the transition to StarVale’s provided phone, email and communications systems happens at the same time.
  • The first draw with StarVale is held on the Friday of that week.
