For nearly two decades, Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices have been working in partnership with StarVale. Utilising bespoke, all-encompassing lottery software and external lottery management services, the weekly lottery helps to raise funds and generate a regular residual income. The Naomi House Lottery uses a subscription-based model to engage players and generate ongoing revenue.
Managing the lottery is a constant collaboration that has evolved and grown over time. The partnership between Naomi House and StarVale is based on innovation and adaptability, with expert advice and guidance offered as and when required. Because of the constant challenge of rising annual costs, it’s important that the hospices adequately maintain its funding support. Since its launch 18 years ago, the weekly lottery alone has raised more than £8.6 million in net proceeds, providing a regular income to help fund the day-to-day operations. This gives the team the assurance of maintaining and increasing revenue.
Because of StarVale’s elevated view of the sector and approach to data analysis, Naomi House have access to unique insights to help inform their decision-making. Subsequently, the team at Naomi House were able to recognise new possibilities for achieving their fundraising goals.
In 2011, following expert guidance and recommendation from StarVale, a Super Draw was introduced to maximise opportunities from the success of the lottery. A further £500k was raised in net proceeds as well as £180k in charitable donations. Additionally, a £5 per month campaign was introduced which resulted in £120k supplementary income. Undoubtably, these initiatives hugely increased the overall lottery income with nearly £9.5 million raised to date and over £1.2 million given away as prizes.
Thanks to their lottery with StarVale, Naomi House & Jacksplace continues to raise vital funds to help ensure individualised care and much needed respite can be offered at the hospices. The support offered for life limited and life threatened children, young adults and the whole family, includes:
Working with a reliable partner is not only imperative for generating the income needed to ensure individuals and families receive the care they deserve, but also to maintain and grow this income. StarVale has provided Naomi House with a consistent and reliable service that has helped innovate and grow their lottery programme. Every single decision is informed by client data, combined with an intimate understanding of what makes a fundraising lottery succeed. This insight is shared and teams feel confident that the lottery income will continue to grow in a sustainable and compliant manner.
We are delighted to work with StarVale. Experts in their field, they innovate and adapt but clearly understand and appreciate the environment that we work in.”
